Jesus said to his disciples in Luke 10:23, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.  For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

How often I take for granted that I have the words of Jesus in my own language, preserved for thousands of years for me to see and hear.  For centuries, people longed to see and hear the Messiah, God in flesh, but couldn’t.  But I can!  HA!

Yet even now people push off the Bible as irrelevant and inaccurate.  They are missing out big time!  Look at what Paul says in Colossians 2:2, “My purpose is that they (the Colossians) may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”  All the treasure of wisdom and knowledge have been hidden in Christ, and now we get to have that treasure.  All we got to do is open our Bible.

When is the last time you found some hidden treasure in God’s word and got really excited about it?
